Penn State extension veterinarians are available as speakers for your meeting. Meeting facilitators including extension educators, veterinarians, nutritionists, consultants or club leaders can request a presentation by contacting the PSU Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences Extension office.

Extension meetings cover a wide range of audiences, formats and expertise levels, including livestock producers, co-operative groups, animal owners and breeders, hobbyists, and 4-H or other youth groups.

Topics can cover various aspects of animal health, nutrition and management, preventative medicine approaches, and disease management for the following species:

Dairy Cattle
Beef Cattle
Meat Goats
Dairy Goats
Sheep
Horses
Llamas and Alpacas
Deer, farm-raised

Examples of possible topics include, but are not limited to:

Animal identification
Emerging disease concerns - BSE, CWD
Bacterial resistance
Biosecurity, on farm
Disease risk analysis
Food safety, on-farm
Johne's disease programs
Livestock nutrition and health
Parasite control
Mastitis/milk quality
Transition cow management
Vaccine protocols for all species

Feed sample analysis
Reading bacterial culture plates
Injections and injection site lesions
Calving management
