Diagnostic Relevence of Pooled Samples for Metabolic Profiles in Dairy Cattle

Dr. Robert Van Saun
The primary objective of this study is to determine the validity of using pooled serum samples from a group of animals in place of determining a mean value from individual samples for use in a herd-based screening profile in assessing metabolic status. The null hypothesis of this project states that there is no difference between measured pooled mean analyte and calculated mean blood analyte concentration in dairy cows.
